Core Values

Core values are beliefs we stand by, which shape how we operate as a church.

Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”

  • A heart to lead by example, not just give orders. (Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less.)
  • If serving is below you, leadership is beyond you.
  • Invest in those who’ll invest in others.
  • Ephesians 4:12 “to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”
  • Equip people for works of service, don’t just be a doer.

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man.”

  • Excellence is not a skill it’s an attitude, it doesn’t happen by accident.
  • Start on time, end on time, be on time.
  • Quality is better than quantity.
  • Set high standards.
  • Always seek to improve.

Romans 12:11 “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

  • Self-motivated people don’t have to be managed.
  • Passion is contagious, it naturally multiplies.
  • Love what you do and those around you.
  • Passionate people want to, they don’t have to.

John 17:23 “I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”

  • One Team, one vision, one method.
  • Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
  • Be a peacemaker, not just a peace-keeper.
  • Maintain candor – open and honest communication.
  • Matthew 18:15 – If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
  • Handle conflict swiftly, directly, gracefully.
  • A house divided can’t stand.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

  • Spoken Blessings: speak to and call out people’s gifting.
  • Compliment more than you correct.
  • SMILE!

Proverbs 23:12 “Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.”

  • Be open-minded.
  • Experience teaches only the teachable.
  • If you think you’re right about everything, you are wrong.
  • If you’re learning you’re growing.

Proverbs 10:9 “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”

  • Be honest and have strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
  • Integrity builds trust.
  • Do the right thing every time all the time.
  • Maintain stewardship of time and money.

1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

  • We must be willing and able.
  • Developing your skills is important.

2 Corinthians 8:7  “But since you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving.”

  • Generosity is having an open heart and open hand
  • Some may have the gift of giving, but everyone has the grace of giving.
  • Tithing is the baseline standard. Offerings are over and above as God leads.
  • In addition to money, we can be generous with time, love, kind words, helping others, wisdom, etc.
