About HIGHRIDGE

We exist for you. We believe that the church should be all about loving God and loving His people. We know it’s hard out there, so our purpose is to help you discover more of who God is, more of who you are, and more of what you were made for.

OUR STORY

"A Rich Legacy Of Growth, A Heart For Families, and A Desire To Know God More."

Founded in 1975, HighRidge Church Longview was established and set apart to make a difference in the East Texas community and all around the world.

1975

SMALL BEGINNINGS: PASTOR LES WOOTEN

Approximately forty believers came together for their first worship service at 2301 Oliver Avenue, the home of Lester and Darlene Wooten. Pastor Lester's vision was for the church to be a place "Where the Word of God becomes a Way of Life." His emphasis on healthy marriages and parenting made a big impact on young families. Lester pastored the church until his retirement in 1995. He remained a committed member of the church until he went to be with the Lord in 2017.

LONGVIEW CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

The the new group of believers, now carrying the identifying name of Longview Christian Fellowship, had outgrown homes and rental spaces. The present facility, formerly Mickey Mantel's Country Cooking, was purchased for $75,000.

EXPANSION and THE school

Longview Christian School was founded in 1983, and over the next several years, various additions were made, including a multi-purpose gym and activity building.

PASTOR RUSSELL CRAFT

Russell Craft served as a founding elder and worship leader until 1985, when he and his wife Raenell were called to plant a sister church in Del Rio, Texas. When Lester retired in 1994, Russell was called back to Longview to serve as executive pastor. An avid worshipper, Russell had a desire to help people truly know and experience God. He envisioned a future where pastors across many denominations would connect, share, hold each other up, and pray together for our communities. He helped create the East Texas Ministerial Alliance, still active today, and an important forerunner to today’s highly successful annual Unite Conference. He was still a member of the church when he finished his race in 2020.

pASTOR BOB CAMMACK

During this time, the church was led by Bob and Leslie Cammack. Pastor Bob's ministry was marked by a love for families and the Word, and a heart to see people experience God for themselves. In 2015, he passed the torch to Pastor Tim and retired from the ministry. Like Lester and Russell, has continued on as a dedicated member of the church. You may even see him serving coffee on a Sunday morning!

JOINING THE HIGHRIDGE FAMILY

Big changes happened in 2016 with the appointment of Tim Ingram as the new Senior Pastor. We joined the HighRidge family of churches, founded by Jeff Klingenberg of Fort Worth, Texas, whose greatest desire is to see churches "strengthening people for life."

GROWTH DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

We had a word from God to expand our capacity, so we moved forward in faith with plans to renovate and repurpose the multi-purpose gym. In September of 2020--the most unlikely of times--we celebrated the opening of our current 400-capacity Worship Center.

TODAY

A Desire To See The Lost Saved and grow

Today, HighRidge Church Longview is committed to see East Texas come to Jesus, grow in their personal discipleship, step into freedom, and live lives that make a difference in our community and all around the world. As a core member of UNITE leadership, HRC has a heart to unite churches and work together. "How much could we accomplish if it didn't matter who gets the credit?" - has become a core phrase around here. We're here to glorify God, love the people we encounter, and ultimately play our part in changing East Texas and the world at large.

Our Pastor

I gave my heart to God when I was 5 years old, but it wasn’t until 15 years later that I actually gave Him control. I grew up as a Pastor’s kid, traveling and planting churches all over Texas, leading worship and revivals with my family. Doing ministry was what my family did, but not what I wanted with my life. After being hurt by the church and consequently rejecting the call of God, I found myself quickly at rock bottom. Addiction, divorce, failure, and my sin led me to a dark place that only Jesus’ love could reach. In my brokenness, disappointment, and desperation, I turned to Jesus.

I asked Jesus to take complete control of my life on April 19, 1997 in Fort Worth, Texas. The immediate change was nothing short of miraculous. I am truly grateful for the Lord showing me the full weight of His amazing grace. While volunteering as a youth leader, I was asked to serve as Youth Pastor of Church on the Rock in Fort Worth. The Lord dramatically gave huge increases in student attendance and life change. This quickly led to another position with (then) Benbrook Christian Fellowship, which would later lead to the launch of the first ever HighRidge Church campus. It was there that I met my amazing wife, Tina. She and I have joined together in ministry to lead many people to Jesus. His restoring love propelled us to take His message to the East Texas area.

After serving in nearly every pastoral role in other churches, I am now the Senior Pastor of this amazing church, where God has continued to show Himself strong.

"Being on staff at HighRidge has truly changed my life for the better. The accountability that comes from spiritual care and weekly oversight meetings keeps me safe. I never thought I would see my career path and my purpose intersect, but I am so thankful to be here. It's an honor and a privilege to serve the Lord in this way."
